If you’ve tried BriteKleen Solutions products — Silver BritePlus MX or BritePlus MX…you know we aren’t joking. You know these specialized cleaning products can truly clean, restore and renew aluminum and stainless finishes when, and where, nothing else can. Brighter, shinier, cleaner, more reflective. You know that photos don’t even do justice to the remarkable results that are possible.
And if you haven’t tried the BritePlus products yet—and you have a horse trailer, RV, boat, cargo trailer, tankers, or almost any other aluminum or stainless equipment—you should. Now’s the time. There is nothing else that works so well. We know, we use them. And we hear from our customers like you who love them too.
And right now we’ve even got a new product that fits right in the process. And it is impressive. And entirely within our mission of providing our customers with easy, effective and economical BriteKleen Solutions.
The Backstory on BriteWash
When the scientists in the Dakotas that developed Silver BritePlus MX and BritePlus MX let us know about a new cleaning product that even further improves on the results we’ve experienced with BritePlus and Silver BritePlus…we have to admit we were a bit skeptical.
Granted, neither of the BritePlus cleaners are magic. We have to repeat that a lot. We get all sorts of questions. And neither product is a polisher, buffer or rubbing compound. If you have a vintage Airstream and you want it to shine as bright like the sun, you’re going to have to use some elbow grease. And/or use air tools and polishing compounds to get a mirror finish.
Good, Good Enough & Even Better
And there have been times when we’ve cleaned trailers, or tanks or equipment, and there are some things that don’t come off. Sometimes the obvious problems are so greatly reduced that you think they are gone. But they aren’t entirely gone. It’s just the facts. Not every single stain or deposit or oxidation can be chemically removed. And that’s what’s happening here. That’s why the application process relies very little on friction or scrubbing. Sure, you should clean your trailer or tanker or aluminum wheels first. Because the chemical reaction takes place at, near, or with the metal surface itself. So, yeah, start clean for best results.
A Surface Chemical Cleaner. Strong. Not Harsh.
We’ve often been entirely satisfied, even amazed, looking at the end result of an aluminum trailer or tank cleaning—especially an aluminum horse trailer or polished stock trailer. First we give it a normal wash and hit it good with a pressure washer. It looks clean. It is clean. But it’s not impressive at all. Because that’s as clean as you’re going to get unless you have a surface chemical cleaner designed to interact with a stainless or aluminum surface and finishes.
So we then apply the Silver BritePlus MX or BritePlus MX, give it a swirl with a brush and rinse it off. And WOW. It’s remarkable. The difference is like night and day. So you don’t tend to get too close and get overly picky. You are suitably impressed and satisfied. As most of our customers are.
And, even so, from a short distance away it’s great. From farther away it’s awesome. Brighter, cleaner, more true color and stains not noticeable. But if you really get up close you can still see water deposits, spots or pitted areas or other imperfections and you realize the limits of the technology, the range of science behind cleaning and restoring aluminum and stainless finishes doesn’t reach every last detail.
We Had To Want To Use It Ourselves
So we tried the BriteWash impartially. We wouldn’t simply just add it to our lineup unless we personally would use it and stand behind it. It had to be good. Really good. We were all set to be a hard sell. Because we love having satisfied customers. We love referrals and testimonials. And talking to people that are just as amazed as we were when we found these cleaners. Aluminum and stainless on our own trailers that suddenly looked as close to new as we could remember.
But still, we’d been looking for companion products, but hadn’t found anything. (We are in testing for a new after-cleaning preparation that extends time between applications and prevents some deposits from forming—sign up for the email and we’ll let you know what we find out.) And so we tried BriteWash with at least an open mind.
Easy To Use: BritePlus Booster or Stand-Alone Super-Duty Wash
It’s easy to apply with the BritePlus products because it’s used together. You actually want the two chemicals to mix on the surface. So you apply the appropriate BritePlus like normal. Spray it on and work it around on the trailer’s metal surface (agitate) with a brush. Then you normally would rinse, without letting it dry. But in the case where you’re going to use BriteWash as a booster, you take your brush and dip into the BriteWash solution and keep right on brushing around on the surface. You’re not scrubbing per se, but more mixing the BriteWash into the Silver BritePlus MX or BritePlus MX that’s already wet and covering the trailer surface.
BriteWash. There Is No Substitute
And the acidic BritePlus products react with the base detergent and get neutralized. At this point something in the scientific side is happening. And it’s good. Things are going to get clean that WILL NOT if you don’t use BriteWash. It is important!
Always Rinse Well
So take your time and get everything all good and mixed around before your rinse. And you’re going to rinse everything well. Because that’s what you need to do anyway. That’s important with Silver BritePlus MX or BritePlus MX. But with the BriteWash you’re actually adding a measure of protection, should you fail to rinse an area properly. Because it neutralizes the acids of the other products.
And it’s possible for a corrosive effect to occur if you left undiluted BritePlus MX or (less strong) Silver BritePlus MX on the surface, and it remained in contact with something sensitive (wiring, plastic, who knows). We have never had problem with this. Or heard of it with these products. So the benefit may be moot. Yet, it’s possible. But what isn’t debatable is the end result of the acid-neutralized cleaning process. It’s awesome. Sure, the difference is subtle compared with using BritePlus MX or Silver BritePlus MX. It’s not an order of magnitude better like that.
But it’s noticeably better. Verifiably. Especially when you get up close, like we have. The extra measure of cleaning, brightening and surface staining removal is welcome. And if you’re then going to get out the buffer and really turn up the shine, well, you’re that much closer to where you want to be.
Be sure to send us YOUR before/after pictures!
And before we forget, we have to mention that BritePlus is absolutely a valid product as a stand-alone detergent for normal washing. You don’t need to use it before you apply the Silver BritePlus MX or BritePlus MX. Just get the trailer or equipment clean with normal soap and/or a pressure washer. It’s more important in the combination role if you’re going for a full-surface clean.
Concentrate On What Really Works & Get the Best Results
In between BritePlus applications – all year long – BriteWash is by far our first choice as a car/truck/equipment detergent. In our first test it absolutely obliterated a half a winter’s cinder residue without breaking a sweat. Now we used a couple cups of concentrate to a bit more than a half bucket of hot water, so it was stronger than was probably necessary, true. But it didn’t hurt the paint. And the severe build-up melted off. This gunk was coating a vehicle that had been up and over the Cascade summit repeatedly. Driving through snow and slush laced with volcanic cinders and gravel that DOT trucks liberally coat the roadway with for traction. And—after a couple months alternating between ski trips up the mountain and parking down here on the wet side of the mountains—it dries on a vehicle like a concrete sarcophagus. BritePlus won us over with that wash, even before we saw what it could do with the Wilson stock trailer.
The Total BriteKleen Solution
Don’t even hesitate. Take advantage of the combo deal. You’ll love BriteWash when you use it with the BritePlus products—and all the other times when you just need to give your car, truck or trailer a good wash.
